The Government Accountability Project is dedicated to promoting transparency and instilling trust in our civic institutions. We believe good government is the cornerstone to a thriving society and work to ensure that our systems and leaders are accountable to the communities they serve.
ABOUT US
Our Founding Fathers formed our system of government to secure the natural rights and welfare of its citizens. They believed in creating a government that derived its power from the consent of the governed and existed to protect individual liberties such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The Founders aimed to establish a system that would provide for the common defense, promote justice, maintain order, and foster the general welfare. They sought to create a government that would be accountable to the people and serve their best interests.
We believe that the system has been rigged for those in power by those with money and access. This has not only corrupted the intent of our founders for the justice and security they envisioned, it has fostered deeper divides and extreme rhetoric that creates a further gap between our government and the communities it is serving.
